ABOUT ROSAN KENNELS

Picture

We fell in love with the Mini Aussie breed in 2011. Our hearts were captured by their unique looks, intelligence, and of course, size. We decided to begin breeding these wonderful dogs in 2012 and since then have been blessed to journey into the AKC (official breed recognition was in 2014) alongside many other great breeders.

Our home has always been a place of life and energy! Our puppies are raised alongside the family, living indoors with us and not in a separate, outdoor kennel. They are exposed to a variety of people, other animals, and sounds to maximize socialization. Most importantly they experience family life while with us so that they are fully prepared to join yours.

The Miniature American Shepherd

Miniature American Shepherds, often referred to as Mini Aussies, are an intelligent, active, and beautiful breed.  As wonderful of dogs as they are, they are not ideal for everyone. We encourage you to get to know the breed through doing some research and reading and always voicing any questions you may have. Below is a short history and introduction to the Miniature American Shepherd.

Miniature American Shepherds are an AKC recognized breed that originated from the United States. They were bred as herding dogs for smaller livestock and excel in a variety of activities, including herding, agility, obedience, rally, disc, and dock diving, they will also be your ideal jogging partner. These dogs are bred to be active and do best in a home that will give them an outlet for their energy.  These dogs are quick learners and a joy to train! A Mini Aussie's life span is typically 13 to 15 years. Their height ranges between 13 to 18 inches tall. They are a medium size dog, weighing between 25 to 35 pounds. Miniature American Shepherds are often noticed by their coat that comes in a variety of colors: red merle, red bi, red tri, blue merle, black tri, and black bi.

Each Miniature American Shepherd is unique, but as a whole these dogs are bred to be active, intelligent, and loyal. We encourage you, whether you purchase a puppy from Rosan or another breeder, to ask questions about your future puppy's temperament and meet its parents, and not to settle, your perfect puppy is out there!
